Sam Taylor Wood is Louis Vuitton's new muse

SAM TAYLOR WOOD is the first to pose for Louis Vuitton's new Double Exposure campaign. The new imagery project reveals the two sides of a subject's life, photographed using the mercurial collodion process - which requires the sitter to hold a pose for 12 seconds - and filmed with their most personal belongings.

"It's a beautifully slow, arduous and a painstaking process, and I like that," Taylor Wood said of the 19th Century collodion wet plate photographic process. "I like the difference between this and how speedy everything is today, including the way we take pictures."

Captured by Tom Craig and styled by Bay Garnett, the images will be revealed at a private viewing event at Louis Vuitton's Bond Street Maison tonight, but for now you can see what happened behind the scenes here. Click back tomorrow for an exclusive look at the wet plate images - and to see what happens at tonight's star-studded event.

In other Vuitton-related news, the label is opening a pop-up shop in Cannes to celebrate the city's annual Film Festival in May. The décor of the store will be inspired by the beach and by cinema, and will focus on evening collections.
